I was sad to see that this category is so under-utilized. I was hoping to find some great ideas here and wanted to open up discussion for the topic of how to make slow food an everyday part of life.
I am beginning to plan Slow dinners with my family and friends. We had one yesterday evening and discussed plans for others. I love the idea of everyone helping out with the meal and that portion of the evening not being the precursor to the main event (the meal) but it all being part of the celebration of food. I've had ideas about cultural themes (Italian night, Mexican, Chinese, New Orlean cooking, etc.) Also various tastings, wine and cheese, for instance.
Does anyone have any other ideas that they may add to this? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I think it is a great idea. People have forgotten what food is meant to taste like and that food is meant ot be shared and experienced not wolfed down in front of the TV wiithout talking to those around you.
